Arceneaux, who survived bone cancer and became the first human in space with a prosthetic leg bone, embodies resilience, bravery, and determination. Her journey is a testament to the power of ambition and the will to overcome adversity. Dr. William L. Dahut: Leading the Charge Against Cancer
Stepping up next, we have the globally recognized physician-investigator, Dr. William L. Dahut. Currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer for the American Cancer Society, Dr. Dahut manages over $400 million in research funding, shaping the organization’s discovery work, and advising key discovery positions.
Before joining the ACS, Dr. Dahut held prominent roles at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). At NCI he led the revitalization of its clinical research program, and pioneering treatment regimens in prostate cancer. His work has been instrumental in transforming cancer research, and his address is bound to provide invaluable insights into cancer research’s future.
