ORCID and Crossref: Catalysts for Connectivity
Last year marked a significant leap in adoption of ORCID IDs by 80% of applicants on ProposalCentral, enhancing connectivity and efficiency in the scientific community. The platform itself saw an influx of over 200,000 new users, expanding our vibrant community of researchers, innovators, and pioneers.
Furthermore, as a proud sponsor among the four Crossref sponsoring organizations in the Americas, we saw a 33% growth in Crossref grant DOI deposits. This achievement solidifies our role in promoting open science and amplifies our impact across the global research ecosystem.

Following the thread of connectivity and collaboration, 2023 also set a new benchmark in grantmaking and publications through ProposalCentral. The volume of new awards made last year brought our cumulative total to over $30 billion. Coupled with this financial milestone was the remarkable increase in publications associated with researchers, totaling more than 1.2 million in 2023. This 46% year-over-year growth in publications is a clear indicator of the burgeoning knowledge and discovery being facilitated through our platform.
