On November 9, 2020, The Lupus Research Alliance announced the 2020 Lupus Innovation Award recipients. These seven recipients are tackling projects that represent a wide breadth of scientific exploration of the disease, from the development and progression of lupus to identifying potential treatment approaches.
The Award provides support for innovative approaches to major challenges in lupus research with a special emphasis on exploring fundamental mechanisms, novel targets for drug development, technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches. Winners receive $150,000 per year up to two years. Early-stage investigators are eligible for an additional third year of funding contingent upon successful completion of the original grant.
