The American Heart Association Celebrates First Year on ProposalCentral

The American Heart Association (AHA) is celebrating one year using ProposalCentral. According to the research team at AHA, “Everyone has settled in nicely with the new system – which is more modern and user friendly – and we recently managed over 1,500 fellowship applications through the process with awards starting in the spring.”

Steve Pinchotti, CEO of Altum remarked, “We are thrilled to partner with AHA and congratulate them on all they have accomplished in their first year. Altum is committed to AHA’s success and excited to continue to support the AHA team as they deliver world class research programs and extend the impact of their grant-making long beyond the award.”

The team at AHA went on to say, “One of the biggest benefits from the peer review perspective is increased flexibility. ProposalCentral allows for the use of different scoring scales for different programs, as well provides the option to conduct peer review within a given program without holding a meeting. ProposalCentral also provides for weighted scoring criteria on a given proposal, which guides us in a more focused way through preliminary scoring.”

Christine Smith, Director of Product Operations at Altum added, “Working with AHA is incredibly exciting. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and looking forward to what the next year brings.”

From the AHA perspective, the feeling of partnership is mutual. “Customer surveys show high satisfaction with the support team’s response time to inquiries and courtesy, and it’s certainly a benefit that the PC team serves as the first line of support for any system issues that are not business-related. We have enjoyed working with the ProposalCentral team through the implementation process and ongoing regular enhancements to the system.  Making the transition to ProposalCentral has been a positive move for the AHA.”

ProposalCentral (PC) helps research organizations of all sizes unlock the full potential of their funding efforts and deliver outcomes that benefit humanity faster. Learn more about ProposalCentral, and Altum’s suite of products for research grants management.
